I frequently ask friends and neighbors to join my yoga classes in Issaquah and I'm almost always met with the same response.
"I can't come to your class, I'm not a yogi and I'm not flexible. Everyone will judge me."
I honestly have to say that I understand. There have been many classes that I have entered where I didn't feel like I was good enough, didn't feel like I belonged and didn't feel like my pricey yoga clothes were quite trendy enough.
However, yoga isn't really about all of that. It's something I too need to remind myself of frequently. I, personally, do yoga so that my body and mind feel better, and that's what I try to deliver in my classes. That's it. Plain and simple.
When you enter my class, it doesn't matter if you look picture perfect doing a pose, what matters is that you feel better when you leave than when you first walked in. It doesn't matter if you have trendy athleisure wear or a simple t-shirt and shorts. If you admit that you don't know much about yoga, someone else will chime in and tell you how they felt the same way when they started. You'll move through postures multiple times with each round progressing and building on the last, that way you'll already know how to modify the sequence. The next time you show up for class, you'll be greeted by the students around you by name, because these classes aren't just drop-in, they're a (very small) community.
So if you're searching for a place in Issaquah to call your yoga home, you can rise early and practice with me every single week.
Check the schedule for up to date information about class times and locations. Also, feel free to add your email to our newsletter. You'll hear from me once a month about current class themes and changes.
